Materials Chemistry Group
Our research is driven by synthesis and understanding structure-property relationship in new energy and catalytic materials. One particular aim is to achieve a true atomic-level structural and chemical characterization of materials using electron microscopy techniques (In situ TEM, HRTEM, STEM, EELS, EDX), and using this ability to develop new materials with novel functionality. Our current focus areas include mechanistic studies of oxide nanocrystal formation and reactivity, catalyst support materials, and designing materials and devices with adequate properties of energy capture, conversion and storage (solar/fuel cell and battery etc.).
